6,800 SF Theater Conversion

Owned by the town of Haysi, a 6,800 SF former movie theater is being reimagined as a trail center for outdoor adventure tourism and a multi-purpose space for the local community. Playing host to live music, farmer’s markets, and cultural events, the facility will act as an anchor for the town. A new catering kitchen and flexible audio/visual infrastructure will enable banquets and events to be held on the upper level. Located in a flood zone, this project required special consideration such that it can not only survive a flood, but resume operations quickly and provide the citizens of Haysi an area of refuge during an emergency. The project is scheduled to be complete by late 2025.
