This design-build renovation focuses on stripping off decades of finishes to expose the original materials of the prewar building. The new elements are then designed to complement the old, including cherry wood and brick-scale tile, to create a cohesive palette. Clean lines and modern detailing balance the existing textures and decorative trim.

Carefully scaled and detailed for ergonomic use, custom built-ins optimize the use of limited space throughout the apartment. In the kitchen, the millwork serves to conceal appliances and provide specialized storage. In the bedroom, built-in wardrobes replace inefficient closets, and built-in drawers double as a window seat. The project also includes a refinished and expanded bathroom.
